Sometimes, I forget the power of care packages.
I just received one the other day from a childhood friend. Life had sent us in different directions, and I actually hadn't seen or talked to her in almost 8 years! (How did that happen?!)
She had heard about my miscarriage, and it turns out that she also suffered her own miscarriage, just prior to my own. In a strange way, this is comforting to me. It's crazy how common this is.
Anyways, this dear friend sent me the most thoughtful and sincere gifts. Gifts that made me cry (a picture frame for our ultrasound pic so we can always remember out little baby), smile (yummy chocolate!), and hope for better things to come (a beautiful maternity dress).
So, I guess what I'm saying is this...If you know someone that is going through a tough time, a great time, or just an everyday time...send them a care package. It will brighten their day, and remind them just how loved and fortunate they are.
Love,
Betty
